Understanding Ezekiel's Temple Vision

Like many prophecies found in Scripture, the meaning of the Temple Complex described in chapters 40-48 of Yachazqal (Ezekiel) is widely debated among all Sects of Believers. Most struggle to reconcile how this passage seems to declare the Father will once again "build a physical Temple among His People and require their return to the Sacrificial System" although the Messiah has already made a "New Way into Covenant". Because these chapters include extraordinarily detailed conditions and blueprints, some Believers cannot accept this Vision as anything less than the actual description of the Land, City and Temple in which "The Messiah will rule over as King and/or High Priest in Memorial of His sacrifice for those living during the Millennial Reign." Therefore, "proving the Father's law never changes". Although this is the general consensus amongst most Messianic-Judaizer sects, Christian Sects are more diverse in their thoughts on the subject. In fact, there are several prevailing theories.

Why so much disagreement? Mostly because the Book of Yachazqal (Ezekiel) never actually states this particular Vision will be fulfilled during the Age of the Millennial Reign. Inductive Reasoning only submits the Vision refers to a future manifestation during the Age of the Millennial Reign primarily because a Temple of this size and magnitude has yet to be built.

Conditions Congruent for Proper Interpretation of Scripture

Bible scholars often come to accept a certain Doctrinal Theory as mere fact or "law" if the ideology is discussed "loud enough and long enough" by those who claim to be "experts" without thorough testing. However, just because a certain doctrine is widely accepted and disseminated, doesn't mean the belief is actually true. We are called to fully test any interpretation of Scripture by the rest of Scripture (The Word of Yah, which is The Gospel of Messiah) before accepting the theory as fact:

"See to it that no one makes a prey of you through philosophy and empty deceit,

according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary matters of the world,

and not according to Messiah."

"...So you have nullified the command of Alahym by your tradition.."

"But you, stay in what you have learned and trusted,

having known from whom you have learned,

and that from a babe you have known the Set Apart Scriptures,

which are able to make you wise for Deliverance through Belief in Messiah יהושע.

All Scripture is breathed by Alahym and profitable for

teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in Righteousness,

that the man of Alahym might be fitted, equipped for every good work."

"Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonike,

who received The Word with great eagerness,

and searched the Scriptures daily, if these words were so."

This guidance is very important, as even the most "learned scholars" (the Jewish rabbis and Levite priests) of the disciples' day often misinterpreted the meaning of certain Promises, Prophecies and Laws found within The Word. In fact, the very Messiah and King prophesied in verses such as Genesis 49:10 or Deuteronomy 18 was put to death by His Own People for "breaking the law" and being a "false teacher" in their skewed perspective. Why? Because when addressing the crowds, He often pointed out the true meaning of the Inspired Text while acting in violation of their incorrect interpretation of the Law and Prophets.

"For all the Prophets and the Torah prophesied till Yahuchanan (John).

And if you wish to accept it, he is AlYahu (Elijah) who was about to come."

"And see, there was a man having a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying,

“Is it right to heal on the Sabbath?” – so as to accuse Him. And He said to them,

“What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, shall not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more worth is a man than a sheep!

So it is right to do good on the Sabbath.”

He once even corrected a long-held belief regarding the Father's definition of the "seed of Abraham", a direct attack on their identity and faith:

"So יהושע (Yahusha) said to those Yahudym (Jews) who believed Him,

“If you stay in My Word, you are truly My taught ones,

and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

They answered Him, “We are the seed of Abraham,

and have been servants to no one at any time.

How do you say, ‘You shall become free’?”

Yahusha answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you,

everyone doing sin is a servant of sin.

And the servant does not stay in the house forever – a son stays forever.

If, then, the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

I know that you are "the seed of Abraham",

but you seek to kill Me, because My Word has no place in you.

I speak what I have seen with My Father,

and you do what you have heard from your father.”

They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”

Yahusha said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children,

you would do the works of Abraham, but now you seek to kill Me,

a Man Who has spoken to you the Truth

which I heard from Alahym. Abraham did not do this.

You do the works of your father.”

Then they said to Him, “We were not born of whoring,

we have one Father: Alahym.”

Yahusha said to them, “If Alahym were your Father,

you would love Me, for I came forth from Alahym, and am here.

For I have not come of Myself, but He sent Me."

There the Messiah defined the "Children of Yahuah Alahym" and the spiritual "seed of Abraham" are those who are spiritually reborn, those who believe and obey the "Promised Seed" (Him: Yahusha the Messiah), not those who are simply genetically born into Abraham's bloodline through the lineage of Yatschaq (Isaac), Yaacub (Jacob) and Yahudah (Judah). The spiritual seed seemed a foreign concept to them because they were carnally minded (Rom. 8), focused on the temporary physical world and its pains and pleasures instead of the Eternal Spiritual Kingdom and its perfection. So much so, only by Messiah's actual manifestation in power did Shaul (a well respected scholar who'd memorized the Hebrew Scriptures as well as the most authoritative rabbinical understanding of their applicability, Acts 22:3, ref. Memory and Manuscript, p. 133) actually repent and come to realize how spiritually blind he truly was. Only when he became a Believer in Messiah and received the indwelling of the Set Apart Spirit (Acts 9:17) was he able to properly understand the meaning of The Words he'd studied so relentlessly from youth. Therefore, Shaul later stressed the Father's intended meaning of certain key verses to his fellow Hebrews so they may come to understand those passages didn't always mean what their rabbinical traditions long asserted:

"But the Promises were spoken to Abraham, and to his Seed.

He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many,

but as of One, “And to your Seed,” Who is Messiah."

He proclaimed even the most basic, seemingly "obvious" laws found in the torah weren't always meant to be taken as literally as they first appeared, but sometimes held even more important metaphorical and allegorical meaning:

"For it has been Written in the Torah of Mashah (Moses),

“You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.”

Is it about oxen Alahym is concerned? Or does He say it because of us all?

For this was Written because of us, that he who ploughs should plough in expectation,

and the thresher in expectation of sharing."

-1 Corinthians 9:9-10

This great difficulty understanding proper interpretation of the Inspired Text is precisely why The Word often emphasizes the importance of confessing our sins and belief in the true Gospel (Rom. 10:9-13) accepting the Messiah's final Propitiation for them (Heb. 10) - as opposed to accepting a false "gospel", especially that of the Gnostic (Rom. 6:1, 2 Pet. 2:20) or Messianic-Judaizer persuasion (Gal. 1,  2 Corin. 11), repenting from sins unto death and transgression of our conscience (Acts 3:19, Rom. 14, 1 Tim 1:5, James 4:17) to the best of our knowledge and ability (Heb. 10:26:27, 2 Tim. 2:15 2 Pet. 3:14), and being Immersed for the forgiveness of our sins - so the "Set Apart Spirit of Prophecy" (Acts 2:38, Rev. 19:10) may come to dwell in us to lead and guide us into proper interpretation of the Messiah's commands and Scriptural prophecy. Without following accepting full Propitiation and following the Sanctification Process continually, we will inevitably find ourselves without the Set Apart Spirit's guidance, instead relying on "what makes sense to a man," Prov. 14:12 and our "deceitful hearts" (Yarm./Jer. 17:9):

“But when He comes, the Spirit of the Truth, He shall guide you into all the truth.

For He shall not speak from Himself, but whatever He hears He shall speak,

and He shall announce to you what is to come.”

“But the Helper, the Set Apart Spirit, Whom the Father shall send in My Name,

He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.”

-1 Yahuchanan 14:26

"And Kapha (Peter) said to them, “Repent,

and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of יהושע Messiah

for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set Apart Spirit.

For the Promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off,

as many as יהוה our Alahym shall call.”

-Acts 2:38-39

Therefore, as we are often warned throughout the New Testament - those who believe and obey the Messiah as described in the New Testament Letters (Brit haDashah) in "Spirit and in Truth" (Natsarym, Acts 24:5) are those who break away from the false teachings of unbelieving and disobedient Levite Priests and Jewish Rabbis that reject Him, His Teachings or the Teachings of His Anointed Apostles (MathathYahu 23):

"Everyone who is transgressing and not staying

in the Teaching of Messiah does not possess Alahym.

The one who stays in the Teaching of Messiah

possesses both the Father and the Son.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching,

do not receive him into your house nor greet him,

for he who greets him shares in his wicked works."

-2 Yahuchanan 1:9-11

"Now I call upon you, brothers,

watch out for those who cause divisions and stumbling,

contrary to the Teaching which you learned, and turn away from them.

For such ones do not serve our Master יהושע Messiah,

but their own stomach, and by smooth words and flattering speech

they deceive the hearts of the innocent."

-Romans 16:17-18

"Then if I, Master and Teacher, have washed your feet,

you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

For I gave you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.

Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master,

nor is an emissary greater than He Who sent him.

If you know these Teachings, blessed are you if you do them."

"But we ought to give thanks to Alahym always for you,

brothers, beloved by the Master, because Alahym from the beginning

Chose you to be Saved – in Set Apartness of Spirit,

and Belief in the Truth – unto which He Called you by our Good News,

for the obtaining of the Glory of our Master יהושע Messiah.

So, then, brothers, stand fast and hold the traditions

which you were taught, whether by Word or by our Letter."

-2 Thessalonians 2:13-15

Live By His Word and Letter

Shaul (Paul) explained all Believers should not only believe the First Covenant Books of Scripture, but moreso abide by the Words and Letters Written by the Messiah's Chosen Apostles appointed to clarify and testify of His Power and Authority. This means when we meet scholars, historians, professors, teachers and preachers who assert doctrines contrary to what is described as applicable in the New Testament - we should reject those false narratives and hold tight to what is actually true: the teachings, traditions and interpretation of prophecy and laws applicable in the New Covenant Age in which we currently dwell.

"For whatever was Written before was Written for our Instruction,

that through endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures

we might have the Expectation."

-Romans 15:4

"But He answering, said, “It has been Written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every Word that comes from the mouth of Yahuah.’"

"For I Witness to everyone Hearing the Words of the Prophecy of this Book:

If anyone adds to them, Alahym shall add to him the plagues that are Written in this Book, and if anyone takes away from the Words of the Book of this Prophecy,

Alahym shall take away his part from the Book of Life,

and out of the Set Apart City, which are Written in this Book."

-Revelation 22:18-19

Likewise, Peter expressed the words and letters of the Apostles such as Paul simply record the instructions of Messiah Who is both our Saviour and King. Therefore, He now holds the Scepter of Authority to change law and tradition just as The Heavenly Father has commanded Him to do:

"He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words, has One Who judges him:

the Word that I have spoken shall judge him in the Last Day.

Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father Who sent Me

has given Me a command (what I should say and what I should speak).

And I know that His command is Everlasting Life.

Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak."

-Yahuchanan 12:48-50

"And יהושע came up and spoke to them, saying,

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, immersing them

in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set Apart Spirit,

teaching them to guard all that I have commanded you.

And see, I am with you always, until the End of the Age.” Amĕn."

"So then, beloved ones, looking forward to this, do your utmost

to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,

and reckon the patience of our Master as Deliverance,

as also our beloved brother Sha’ul wrote to you,

according to the Wisdom given to him,

as also in all his Letters, speaking in them concerning these matters,

in which some are hard to understand,

which those who are untaught and unstable

twist to their own destruction, as they do also the other Scriptures.

You, then, beloved ones, being forewarned, watch,

lest you also fall from your own steadfastness,

being led away with the delusion of the lawless,

but grow in the favour and Knowledge

of our Master and Saviour יהושע Messiah."

Revelation of the Truth

However, as we also read - this great difficulty understanding Prophecy and Law is not a challenge exclusive to only those who don't believe in Him, nor a hinderance reserved only for those who are overly prideful and religious. Initially, even His Own disciples could not properly understand the verses regarding the meaning of His manifestation, or those describing His Power and Authority until:

"He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures."

-Luke 24:45

The ability to properly understand the Inspired Word and Scriptural Prophecy is therefore not always possible through applying basic reading comprehension skills or even obtained through professional scholarly training in history, linguistics or church tradition. Although those skills may be useful, true and lasting Revelation is a Supernatural Gift coming down from the Father of Lights to those who seek the Truth for His Glory because they love and fear Him above all else:

"For this reason I too, having heard of your Belief in the Master יהושע

and your love for all the Set Apart Ones, do not cease giving thanks for you,

making mention of you in my prayers, that the Alahym of our Master יהושע Messiah,

the Father of Glory, would give you a Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

in the Knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened,

so that you know what is the Expectation of His Calling,

and what are the Riches of the Glory of His Inheritance in the Set Apart ones,

and what is the exceeding greatness of His Power toward us who are Believing,

according to the working of His mighty strength,

which He wrought in the Messiah when He raised Him from the dead

and seated Him at His Right Hand in the Heavenlies,

far above all rule and authority and power and mastery,

and every name that is named, not only in this Age but also in that which is to come.

And He put all under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all, to the Assembly,

which is His body, the Completeness of Him Who fills all in all."

-Ephesians 1:15-23

"That is also why we, from the day we heard, have not ceased praying for you,

and asking that you be filled with the Knowledge of His desire

in all Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding, to walk worthily of the Master,

pleasing all, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the Knowledge of Alahym,

being empowered with all power, according to the might of His Glory,

for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father

Who has made us fit to share in the Inheritance of the Set Apart ones in the Light,

Who has delivered us from the authority of darkness

and transferred us into the Reign of the Son of His Love,

in Whom we have Redemption through His blood: the forgiveness of sins,

Who is the likeness of the invisible Alahym, the first-born of all creation."

-Colossians 1:9-15

Conjunctions & Conditions

Furthermore, just as the Messiah declared the Covenantal Spiritual Inheritance of Abraham is contingent upon belief and obedience towards Him, we find some prophetic promises to ancient Yasharal dwelling in the Promised Land were an outgrowth of that original Covenantal Agreement. Therefore, these promises were also contingent upon certain conditions set forth by the Heavenly Father in the Laws of Mashah (Moses). Often, we find examples of a future Hope and Expectation for providence and protection as long as the people kept their side of the Covenant - or the lack thereof when they didn't. Here, we find the conditional terms were set forth with the conjunctions "if, shall, lest" and "then":

"And it shall be that if you diligently obey My commands which I command you today,

to love יהוה your Alahym and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,

then I shall give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, and you shall gather in your grain, and your new wine, and your oil.

And I shall give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be satisfied. Guard yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve

other mighty ones and bow down to them. Then the displeasure of יהוה

shall burn against you, and He shall shut up the heavens, and there be no rain,

and the land not give its increase. And you shall perish quickly

from the good land which יהוה is giving you."

-Deuteronomy 11:13-17

So although a Literal Future Millennial Temple View of the passage in Ezekiel 40-48 can seem to be a logical conclusion at face value, many serious Scripture Scholars realize prophecy is not always meant to be taken at face value. Some prophecies may use symbolic language (metaphorical, allegorical, or figurative) while others may be literal and yet conditional. However, as a set control, prophecy is however always meant to be understood through the Revelation of the "Set Apart Spirit Spirit of Prophecy" which requires Belief and Obedience towards the proper "Testimony of Messiah" (Gen. 22:18, Rev. 19:10). Likewise, we are commanded to trust in all of His Word (2 Tim. 3:14-17), and be sure not to "add or take away" from Scripture, improperly copy, interpret, translate or transliterate His Words (Yarm./Jere. 8:8, 1 Chanak/1 Enoch 98:2 & 104:9) as every Word and Letter (Math./Matt. 5:18) of the Inspired Text is important.

"Do not despise prophecies, however

test all things, hold fast to the good."

-1 Thessalonians 5:20-21

This is a leading factor in why certain prophetic passages which seem suggest a "return to the Sacrificial System" sometime during the New Covenant Age are in the Christian Zionist and Messianic Judaizer perspective so, "bluntly stating the obvious". However, contrary to popular Christian Belief, Bible Translators are not often empowered by the Set Apart Spirit to perfectly translate the Inspired Word of Yah. In fact, many modern translations were produced by a mixed group of "scholars" including those of the Gnostic sectarian persuasion and even atheists consulted for their formal education in ancient linguistics while using their own working knowledge of preferred Denominational Doctrine to interpret and translate the often already corrupted manuscripts available to them.

To add insult to injury, these panels sometimes elect to add, remove and replace entire books, chapters, verses, words and letters in an effort to "help the reader understand the intended meaning of the Inspired Text". This is often referred to as "increasing the readability of the Text". When this is the case, the "translation" is technically no longer a translation, but a mistranslation (misinterpretation or mistransliteration) of the Text.

Thirdly, many of these modern translations are based on "ancient manuscripts" (such as the Latin Vulgate, the Greek Codexes Vaticanus and Sinaiticus, and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) which are actually corrupted copies and translations interpreted through incorrect doctrinal lenses leaving most Modern Bibles teaching ideology foreign to the original manuscripts even if perfectly "translated" from these particular manuscripts.

Therefore, to truly "test all things" and "hold fast to the good" as commanded, we should not simply trust what appears in our favored Modern English Bible as the "inerrant Word", but compare each verse to the most reliable manuscripts and translations of the Inspired Text we have available. Such sources include, but are not limited to Old Testament manuscripts such the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Ethiopian Text and any authentic copies of the Greek Septuagint (such as the Codex Alexandrinus), as well as the Majority Text for the New Testament. Furthermore, the further from the Inspired Word they interpret the passage the more convoluted the assurance of the passage becomes because few Believers read the passage, and even fewer compare the Modern Translation with their ancient counterparts to test "if these words were so."

Alternatively, because many verses state the Messiah's eternal sacrifice has completed all sacrificial offerings "once and for all" (Hebrews 10:10), some scholars use Abductive Reasoning to conclude this Vision is purely symbolic. However, even as a symbolic picture of the New Covenant Age, some details of Yachazqal (Ezekiel)'s Vision would still serve to contradict other passages of Scripture like those found in the Book of Hebrews and the Book of Revelation. In order to determine what this Vision truly means and when this Vision was actually prophesied to manifest, we must carefully test all conclusions (which serve as set controls) and prevailing theories by considering the passage in context of the greater Story of Scripture, based on the earliest and most reliable Translations, Manuscripts, and Canons. Therefore, based on what is actually Written in Chapters 40-48 describing this prophetic Temple, and known by historical record, let us compare the conditions of Yachazqal's Vision with the rest of Scripture to learn what it really means for followers of Messiah in this day and the days ahead.

"The first to state his own case seems right, until another comes and examines him."

-Proverbs 18:17

"The Law Never Changes"

Based on certain translations of passages of Scripture, Messianic-Judaizers (Gal. 2:13-14, Acts 15:1) often conclude "the Law can never change," from what was prescribed in the Law of Mashah (Moses), for example:

"For I am Yahuah, I shall not change, and you,

O sons of Ya‛aqub, shall not come to an end."

"All Your Words are true; all your Righteous Laws are eternal."

-Psalm 119:160 NIV

"Yahusha Messiah is the same yesterday, and today, and forever."

-Abarym/Hebrews 13:8 ISR98

"Do not think that I came to destroy (2647. kataluó) the Law or the Prophets.

I did not come to destroy (2647. kataluó: To destroy, to dissolve, to overthrow, to abolish)

but to fulfill. For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away,

one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Law till all be accomplished."

However, this conclusion is based on a misinterpretation (and often a mistranslation) of these verses and those similar to them, and stand in stark contrast to other passages which undoubtedly prove otherwise:

"For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also."

"For there is indeed a setting aside of the former command

because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the Torah perfected naught,

but the bringing in of a Better Expectation, through which we draw near to Alahym."

"By saying, ‘New,’ He has made the First Old.

Now what becomes old and growing aged is near disappearing."

-Abarym/Hebrews 8:13

"Saying above, “Slaughter and meal offering, and burnt offerings,

and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor delighted in,”

which are offered according to the Torah, then He said,

“See, I come to do Your desire, O Alahym.”

He takes away the First to establish the Second."

-Abarym/Hebrews 10:8-9

"Why, then, the Torah? It was added because of transgressions,

until the Seed should come to Whom the Promise was made.

And it was Ordained through Messengers in the hand of a mediator."

-Galatians 3:19

"But now we have been released (Strong's G2647: katargeó: To abolish, to nullify, to render ineffective, to bring to an end) from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound,

so that we Serve in Newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the Letter."

-Romans 6:7

As we see in, the verses in question cannot possibly mean every Law Ordained by the Father at any point in history can never change. This is why the Messiah prophesied the First Covenant Law would only be brought to an end (i.e. abolished) when everything necessary (i.e. "all was accomplished") upon His Death, Resurrection and Ascension for it to do so. Paul confirmed this New Covenant Age releases (i.e. brings the First Covenant Law to an end) for those who Believe so we may now Serve as Set Apart Priests "in the Newness of the Spirit, rather than the oldness of the Letter".

But this "change of law and priesthood" is not a conditional release exclusive to the New Covenant Age. In fact, we find several examples of laws being "added" and "taken away" throughout the First Covenant Age depending on the purposes of the Father:

1. It was once perfectly acceptable for Hebrews to marry an immediate family member (Genesis 20), although laws were later added to forbid such practices (Leviticus 18).

2. Tzit-tzit (tassels) were added to the Law of Mashah (Moses) after the Law was given to the Hebrews at Mt. Sinai (Numbers 15)

3. The Law was changed to allow women to inherit land (Numbers 27) after the death of their father, and again amended to only allow them to remarry within the tribe of their father (Numbers 36)

4. The entire nation were to be ordained as priests (Exodus 19), until they rejected their charge at the Foot of Mt. Sinai (Exodus 20) afterwhich only Aaron and his sons were to be ordained as priests to serve before Him as "an everlasting law" (Exodus 29), a law which later changed again to include only the sons of Tsadaq (Ezekiel 44).

5. In the day of Yahusha (Joshua) and ChazakYah (Hezekiah), the Celestial Bodies changed their courses (Joshua 10-12-14, 2 King 20:1-11, Jasher 88:64 & 89:8, Enoch 80), altering the Laws of Heaven and the Calendar Torah originally delivered to Mashah (Moses) at Mt. Sinai (Enoch 72-78 & Jubilees 6).

   
   

But if this is not the proper interpretation, then what do they mean? Elsewhere we learn it is the consistently Righteous Judgement of the Father and His Plan of Salvation at the Manifestation of the Messiah's First Coming that would never change - the Hope and Expectation of an Incorruptible Eternal Life made available to all those who believe in Him as Saviour and obey Him as King upon His Second Coming:

"And in the days of these sovereigns the Alah of the Heavens shall set up a reign which shall never be destroyed, nor the reign pass on to other people – it crushes and puts to an end all these reigns, and it shall stand forever."

"And this, “Yet once more,” makes clear the removal of what is shaken –

as having been made – so that the unshaken matters might remain.

Therefore, receiving an unshakeable Reign, let us hold the Favour,

through which we Serve Alahym pleasingly with Reverence and awe,

for indeed, our Alahym is a Consuming Fire."

“Speak to the heart of Yarushalam, and cry out to Her,

that Her hard Service is completed, that Her crookedness is pardoned,

that she has received from the hand of יהוה double for all her sins.”

The voice of one crying in the Wilderness, “Prepare the Way of יהוה;

make straight in the desert a Highway for our Alahym. Let every valley be raised,

and every mountain and hill made low. And the steep ground shall become level,

and the rough places smooth. And the Esteem of יהוה shall be revealed,

and all flesh together shall see it. For the mouth of יהוה has spoken.”

The Voice said, “Cry out!” and he said, “What do I cry?”

“All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.

Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, when the Spirit of יהוה has blown on it!

As we see, those laws which Temporarily Covered Unrighteousness such as the Levitical Priestly Service in the physical Temple in Yarushalam (Jerusalem) had to change, in order for the Gospel of the Messiah of the New Covenant Age to manifest just as His Word always prophesied to be the case. However, several other examples in Scripture provide sufficient evidence a "change of law and priesthood" was always possible even within the First Covenant Age as we will now discuss. But to identify these changes, we must first consider the explicit parameters as they were described in the Promises of the Covenant, Torah and Historical Records.

1. The parameters of the Prophesied City described in the Vision are much larger than Yarushalam in the Solomon's and Herod's days (about 1.5 total square miles, (Eze. 48:30-35), but much smaller than the City of New Yarushalam described in Revelation (about 230 times smaller, Eze. 42:15-19, Rev. 21), therefore can not be the same City of the 1st & 2nd Temples or New Yarushalam described in Revelation

2. The name of the Prophesied City in Ezekiel's Vision is Yahuah Shamah ("Yahuah is There"), whereas His People come to worship the Father and Messiah on Mount Tsayan (YashaYahu/Isaiah 2, Rev. 7 state, Yarm./Jere. 3:14-18) at the end of the Tribulation Period until they are transfigured into their Incorruptible Bodies and Souls and are taken up into the Sky to dwell in New Yarushalam which resides in the Heavens (1 Corin. 15:51-52, John 1:14:1-3, Acts 1:9-11 & 1 Thess. 4:17) during the Millennial Reign until the Second Resurrection when the Enemy deceives the Resurrected Unrighteous into making War against the Heavenly New Yarushalam, but He sends Fire down to them from Heaven where They Dwell ( Rev. 20) to consume their enemies on earth, and then Heaven and Earth are physically destroyed and remade (Rev. 21:1-2), and New Yarushalam comes down to earth where They dwell eternally (Yual/Joel 3:17, YashaYahu/Isaiah 4:3), therefore can not be the same Vision of the City described in the Vision in Revelation of the Millennial Reign or Eternal Kingdom

3. The Vision in Ezekiel includes a 8.3 by 6.6 mile Sacred District surrounding the Temple which has never been included in any other Temple (Eze. 45:1-3), proving a change of law was made possible prior to the total destruction of Heaven and Earth

4. Ezekiel's Temple is much grander in scale in comparison to any Tabernacle or Temple which has ever been built (Eze. 41 & 42), proving a change of law was made possible prior to the destruction of Heaven and Earth

5. Ezekiel's Vision of the Temple is not located within the City of Yarushalam (Jerusalem), but 5,000-15,000 cubits (about 31 kilometers) north of the City of Yarushalam (Eze. 45:1-8 & 48:1-25), therefore either can not refer to the same events, and can not be a literal/spiritual future manifestation during any New Covenant Age, including the Tribulation Period (Eze. 8-9), Millennial Reign (1 Corin. 15:51-52, John 1:14:1-3, Acts 1:9-11 & 1 Thess. 4:17), or the Age of the Eternal Kingdom (Yual/Joel 3:17, YashaYahu/Isaiah 4:3, Rev. 21:1-3)

6. Ezekiel's Temple includes sacrificial offerings for actual sin and atonement (not just as Memorials) for all the people of Yasharal, along with many Festival Sacrifices, regular drink offerings, food offerings and first-fruit tithes as required under the entire First Covenant Torah (Eze. 40:39, 42:13, 43:19, 43:21-22, 43:25-26, 44:27, 44:29, 45:15, 45:17, 45:19, 45:20, 45:22, 45:25, 46:20). Although, Scripture states His People need no more sacrifice due to the Messiah's Eternal Offering "setting them apart once and for all, forever" (Heb. 10:1-23), and during the Millennial Reign His People will not be living in Sin but have already been "transformed into their Eternal Incorruptible Bodies and Spirits" (1 Corin. 15:51-53, Rev. 20:4-6, 1 Thess. 4:13-17, Dan. 12:1-2, John 5:28-29, Heb. 9:27-28), therefore can not be a literal future Vision during the Age of the Millennial Reign

7. Many of these sacrifices are different than what was prescribed in the original torah and are required for different purposes (becoming more stringent, focusing more on the Purity of the Temple and the Purity People), proving a change of law was made possible prior to the total destruction of Heaven and Earth

8. Ezekiel's Temple is officiated by a Levitical Priesthood, led by a High Priest of the Sons of Tsadaq (Eze. 40:45-46 & 43:19), rather than all Levites as was commanded in the Law of Mashah (Moses), proving a change of law was made possible prior to the total destruction of Heaven and Earth

9. The Levite-Tsadaq High Priest of the Temple of Ezekiel also rules over the Land as a "Prince", but requires sacrificial atonement for his own sins (Eze. 45:21-22, Eze. 46: 2, 4, 8, 10, & 12), rendering him a mere man and mortal sinner by default, and not the Messiah Who is the Eternal Malky-Tsadaq High Priest and King over all Yasharal forever (Heb. 7:17-24), and Who is sinless and needs no Atonement (Heb. 4:15), therefore cannot be a literal future manifestation post-resurrection and ascension of Messiah

10. The High Priest/Prince which rules the Land is authorized to give his possessions to his sons once he dies, therefore has children (Eze. 46:16), therefore can not be the Messiah Who has no children and Who can not die

11. The Vision states several Princes would consecutively over the People which proves this cannot be a New Covenant Age prophecy as the Messiah has already become the eternal High Priest and King over Yasharal forever (Acts 5:25-32, 1 Corinthians 15:20-27)

12. The Levite-Tsadaq Priests require sacrificial atonement for their sins to be appointed as priests after the 8 day priestly anointing process (Eze. 43:19 & 27) and are not Malky-Tsadaq Priests of the New Covenant Age (Psalms 110, 1 Peter 2) who have been anointed as a Set Apart Priesthood and forgiven once and for all time through the Eternal Covering of the Messiah's perfect sacrifice (Heb. 7:12 & 10), therefore cannot simply be a spiritual Vision of the Body of Messiah

13. No man of uncircumcised of flesh is authorized to enter that Temple Complex (Eze. 44:7 & 9), although Scripture says circumcision is no longer required for entry into the Temple after the Messiah's Resurrection (1 Corin. 7:18, Heb. 10:19-22), therefore can not be a future literal manifestation post-resurrection and ascension of Messiah

14. The Tribal Names of the Law of Moses do not match the Lands and Gates in Ezekiel (Yach./Eze. 48) which do not match the Names of the Gates of the Tribes in the City of New Yarushalam in Revelation (Rev. 7 & Rev. 21); Revelation 7 replaces the Tribe of Manasseh with Yachazqal (Ezekiel) Chapter 48's Tribe of Dan; Revelation 7 replaces the Tribes of Dan and Aphraym (Ephraim) in Ezekiel's Vision with Manasseh and Yusaph/Joseph; Yachazqal's Vision includes lands allotted to the Priests and Princes which was not authorized by Torah of Moses, Revelation states all the People are the Priests, not just the Tsadaqym (Zadokites) and Levites:

Therefore, because the Tribes in Yachazqal (Ezekiel) 40-48 are not the same Tribes listed in the Book of Revelation during the Last Days, this Vision can not be a future manifestation during the Millennial Reign Age or the Age of the Eternal Kingdom. Thus, after a thorough examination of the contents of this particular passage in Yachazqal (Ezekiel), we now know the Ezekiel's Vision of the Temple and Yarushalam do not line up with the conditions of Solomon's Temple, Zerubbabel's Temple, Herod's Renovated Temple, the literal or symbolic Conditions of the Body of Messiah during the New Covenant Age, or the prophetic imagery of the passages in Revelation describing the Tribulation Period, Millennial Reign or the Eternal Kingdom.

Instead, what we are left with are many differences in this Vision as compared with several other prophecies discussing both the Old and New Covenantal Conditions revealing a "change of law" was always possible, even before the complete and total destruction of Heaven and Earth. So then, what does this Vision mean? To better understand, we will have to review the contents and manuscripts of the rest of the "Book of Ezekiel" to find the very details outlining precisely when this Vision was expected to manifest.

13 Scrolls of Ezekiel

Most Believers are taught to believe whatever we see written in black and white in our Bible of choice is the "perfect unadulterated Word". To accept anything less is often perceived to be "blasphemy" against the Word and the Truth. We are conditioned to believe all scribes were supernaturally coerced to copy and translate the Word from the original manuscripts in perfect terms and order. However, Scripture says many scribes have "falsely interpreted, added and taken away" from His Word based on their preferred traditions and beliefs as far back as the First Temple Era, but the Messiah proclaims this problem persisted even during the Second Temple Era through the Pharisaic Scribes:

"How do you say, ‘We are wise, and the Torah of Yahuah is with us’?

But look, the false pen of the scribe has worked falsehood.

The "wise" shall be put to shame, they shall be broken down and caught.

See, they have rejected the Word of Yahuah, so what Wisdom do they have?"

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!

Because you go about the land and the sea to win one convert, and when he is won,

you make him a son of Gehenna twofold more than yourselves."

-MathathYahu/Matthew 23:15

Throughout our history, we can see this has been the case even within the past two thousand years, as "Bibles" in the 1600's included several more Books and Verses than what our more modern sets do.

*Although not annotated here, "The Book of Enoch" (aka "1 Enoch") and the "Additions to Esther" have recently been found in the oldest Septuagint manuscripts available, as well as the Zadokites' Dead Sea Scroll Canonized Texts

Furthermore, this comparison chart not only reveals our modern "Bibles" are missing a plethora of Books and Verses included in those of the 16th Century, but even those of the 16th Century were missing several Books and Verses as compared to their 2nd Century B.C. counterparts. Many Inspired Books, Chapters and Verses have been changed or removed altogether. Sometimes Verses exist where they did not before. We see evidence of this problem riddled throughout Scripture, as Yahudah (Jude) refers to the Book of Chanak (Enoch) and Yahusha (Joshua) refers to the Book of Yashar (Jasher), yet they are often excluded from "authoritative canons". However, in order to confidently understand any given biblical topic, we must include all of Scripture in the best word-for-word Translations based on the most trustworthy Canons and Manuscripts we have available to our generation. Otherwise, we are forced to accept as "Biblical Doctrine" whatever false interpretation a particular scholar or translator has decided to perpetuate.

For instance, many Believers do not realize the "Book of Ezekiel" was not originally Written in the order it often appears in modern Bibles today. The "Book of Ezekiel" is actually a collection of 13 Separate Time-stamped Letters on 13 Separate Scrolls written by Yachazqal (Ezekiel) during the Southern Kingdom's 70 Year exile over a period of 25 years. Deciphering the true meaning of the 13 Separate Scrolls also requires a general understanding the Father's Covenantal Conditions to His People and his role among the prophets and placing them back into their original order. Through many prophets, the Father consistently promised His People would live and thrive in the Promised Land if they obeyed His Commands, and were also warned they would be chastised and removed if they refused to obey His Commands. This is a Covenantal Release from His requirement to "keep them and bless them" in the Land if they failed to uphold their side of the Agreement.

"See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse:

the blessing, if you obey the commands of Yahuah your Alahym which I command you today

and the curse, if you do not obey the commands of Yahuah your Alahym,

but turn aside from The Way which I command you today,

to go after other mighty ones which you have not known."

-Deuteronomy 11:26-28

We see a similar Conditional Release promised to Daud (David) and Shalamah (Solomon). He promised them if they and their sons would obey the commands, then His Presence would dwell in that Temple, and their family lineage would rule the People of the Promised Land continually:

"And it came to be, when Shalamah had finished building the House of Yahuah and the House of the Sovereign, and all the desire of Shalamah which he was pleased to do, that Yahuah appeared to Shalamah the second time, as He had appeared to him at Gib‛on. And Yahuah said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before Me. I have Set this House Apart which you have built to put My Name there forever, and My eyes and My heart shall always be there. And you, if you walk before Me as your father Daud walked, in integrity of heart and in Uprightness, to do according to all that I have Commanded you, if you guard My Laws and My Right-Rulings, Then I shall establish the throne of your Reign over Yasharal forever, as I promised Daud your father, saying, ‘There is not to cease a man of yours on the throne of Yasharal.’ If you at all turn back, you or your sons, from following Me, and do not guard My commands, My laws, which I have set before you, but shall go and serve other mighty ones and bow yourselves to them, then I shall cut off Yasharal from the face of the soil which I have given them, and send away from My Presence this House which I have Set Apart for My Name. And Yasharal shall be a proverb and a mockery among all the peoples. And this House, which has been exalted, everyone who passes by it shall be astonished, and hiss, and say, ‘Why has Yahuah done thus to this Land and to this House?’ Then they shall say, ‘Because they have forsaken Yahuah their Alahym, who brought their fathers out of the land of Matsraym, and they embraced other mighty ones, and bowed themselves to them and served them. That is why Yahuah has brought all this evil on them.’”

However, we soon learn Shalamah (Solomon) did not remain Faithful as his father Daud (David), and did not keep the commands of the Father in Heaven:

"Thus Shalamah did evil in the eyes of Yahuah,

and did not follow Yahuah completely, like his father Daud."

-1 Kings 11:6

For this reason, the Father followed through with His Conditional Release and removed King Shalamah (Solomon) from the throne otherwise Promised to him, and gave it to his son instead. Worse still, "Solomon’s Temple" is now known as the "First Temple" because the many kings will ruled in the coming centuries did not "continually walk in the Faith of their Fathers". Therefore, around 722 BC the Father allowed the Assyrians to conquer and deport the Northern Kingdom of Yasharal. But because the Southern Kingdom of Yahudah's transgressions against His Covenant did not relent, growing even more wicked than the Northern Kingdom's, He allowed the Babylonians to take many of the remaining Hebrews into exile and destroy Shalamah's Temple, the King's House, and the City of Yarushalam.

"And in the Fifth Month, on the Seventh of the Month, which was the Nineteenth Year of Sovereign Nebukadnetstsar Sovereign of Babal, Nebuzaradan the chief of the guard, a servant of the Sovereign of Babal, came to Yarushalam. And he burned the House of Yahuah and the House of the Sovereign, and all the Houses of Yarushalam – even every Great House he burned with fire. And all the army of the Chaldeans who were with the chief of the guard broke down the walls of Yarushalam all around. And Nebuzaradan the chief of the guard took into exile the rest of the People who were left in the City and the deserters who deserted to the Sovereign of Babal, with the rest of the multitude."

The key to really understanding the Vision of the passage in Chapters 40-48 is then knowing each of these 13 Scrolls were Written after the First Temple was already destroyed, yet during the Southern Kingdom's Dispersion, but all at different times, for different purposes, to different people. However, as it appears in most Modern Bible translations today, the "Book of Ezekiel" is not separated into these 13 Time-Stamped Scrolls, but now set in an order which is not Faithful to its original order as stated throughout its contents. The Vision of the great City and physical Temple is placed at the end of the "Book of Ezekiel" in most modern translations, leaving the reader with an expectation of the Promise of a future Temple to become literally manifested. This incorrect order intends to change the meaning of the "Book of Ezekiel" to an alternative understanding of the New Covenant Conditions and Eschatology Timeline which is completely inconsistent with the rest of the Inspired Text. Therefore, Christian scholars are forced to consider various theories for what the Vision could possibly mean in a valiant attempt to reconcile the Vision with the larger Story of Scripture. Because these theories inevitably fail to fully account for the complete contents, many Believers to seek answers from unbelieving Jewish rabbis. However, because most of them are now of the Zionist persuasion, this thought process often leads well-meaning Believers to conclude this Vision is an unconditional literal future for those who live during the age of the Millennial Reign. Although this interpretation was very rare for the majority of history, this has recently become the understanding of the majority of Messianic Jews and Christian Protestants who have adopted the doctrinal positions of C.I. Scofield (1843-1921), a major influencer of modern Christian Zionism and Dispensationalism.

However, when we return the Scrolls to the order they were truly meant to be placed based on the dates recorded within them, including all the words original to the most reliable manuscripts available, an assurance of a future Millennial Temple Complex is not the end of the Story. What we learn instead is the Vision was a conditional Promise to that particular generation who received it. Thus, revealing a completely different Story and expectation than what is taught in most seminaries and congregations today. We are not left with the expectation of a Third Temple to eventually be rebuilt in Righteousness but with the Father announcing His Judgement on those found worshipping in a physical Temple due to their Unrighteousness and Unbelief.

Yachazqal/Ezekiel's 13 Scrolls in the Order According to the Dates Outlined in the Septuagint

But why the massive shift? Why would Yah Promise this beautiful Land, City and Temple only to close the Visions with a warning they will build a Temple only to have it destroyed along with those found worshipping in it? We find the reason hidden within the often mistranslated verses of Chapter 43:

“Now, let them put their whoring and the corpses of their sovereigns far away from Me, and I shall dwell in their midst forever. Son of man, explain the House to the House of Yasharal, and when they are ashamed of their crookednesses, they shall measure the measurements. And since they shall be ashamed of all that they did, make known to them the design of the House and its structure, and its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its laws, and all its forms and all its Torot (laws). And write it down before their eyes, so that they observe its entire design and all its laws, and shall do them."

"And now, let them put away from me their fornication, and the murders of their princes, and I will dwell in the midst of them forever. And thou, son of man,

shew the House to the House of Yasharal, that they may cease from their sins;

and shew its aspect and the arrangement of it.

And they shall bear their punishment for all the things that they have done:

and thou shalt describe the house, and its entrances, and the plan thereof,

and all its ordinances, and thou shalt make known to them all the regulations of it,

and describe them before them: and they shall keep all my commandments,

and all My ordinances, and do them."

These passages seem pretty straight-forward. From what these two English Translations seem to say, Ezekiel was expected to explain the blueprints of this Temple and City to the Northern House of Yasharal (who were dispersed amongst the Gentiles) which should cause them to become ashamed of their sins, leading them to repent, and then they would immediately build this Temple ("now") in order to observe the new ordinances outlined in the letter. However, if that were really the case, then Ezekiel would have shared His Vision with the Ten Tribes, and that generation would have built that Temple to the parameters precisely as outlined and the Northern and Southern Kingdoms would have come back to the Land to worship the Father under one Royal Levitical Tsadaq High Priest. Beautiful story, but that is not what happened.

Instead, when the Southern Kingdom returned from captivity, they built a new Temple under the leadership of Zarubbabal (Zerubbabel) and Yahusha (Jeshua) (Ezra 3:8-11) starting in 536 BC which was finished in 520 BC (Ezra 6:15). This Second Temple was built on the same site as Shalamah's (Solomon’s) First Temple and about the same size, but much less ornate. However, the Northern Kingdom did not join the Southern Kingdom, nor did the land become divided as the Vision foretold. This humble Temple was in use for about 500 years, until it was dismantled and rebuilt into a much larger, and much more ornate design by Herod the Great after 20 BC.

This redesigned "Second Temple" was still nowhere close to the size of the Promised Temple in the 11th Scroll (Ch. 40-48) of Yachazqal (Ezekiel). Instead, Herod's Temple stood until 70 AD when it was destroyed by the Romans, and to this day a physical temple has ceased to exist. Is the Vision a a false prophecy then, as many Jewish Rabbis believe and teach? We would have to say it is not. Instead, we have to assert The Word is true, but man often misinterprets it. Let us go back to the earliest manuscripts and see what these Translators may have misunderstood based on what was actually Written in the Text.

Ezekiel 43:11 Interlinear

There we see what was altogether missing from the two English translations we read from earlier: a Conditional Release built into their Covenant Promise. The actual Manuscript says if they heard the Vision and were ashamed of all they had done, then the Temple would have been built to the parameters described. But, most of them were not. Therefore, the Visions and Letters of Ezekiel instead close by warning the People of Yasharal and Yahudah their rebellion and faithlessness will be heavily Judged, particularly during the time of the Great Tribulation which would come upon their progeny in the Last Days. In light of these facts, the entire passage of the 11th Scroll should be reconsidered. But if not a future promise to the United Kingdom of Yasharal, then what value does this passage hold for those of the New Covenant Age?

Finding Meaning in Literal Historical Unfulfilled Conditional Promises

Considering all the evidence, we now know the Book of Ezekiel is actually 13 Time Stamped Scrolls written to several different kings in an entirely different order than what modern scholars present. We also know the specific prophetic Promises of a massive physical Temple Complex to be built just north of the City of Yarushalam (Jerusalem) completely depended on the scattered generation of Ezekiel's immediate return to righteousness. Although some parts of Ezekiel may be discussing prophetic future events, chapters 40-48 discuss a temple which requires Sacrifices for Atonement and Sin (Eze. 40:39, 42:13, 43:19, 43:21-22, 43:25-26, 44:27, 44:29, 45:15, 45:17, 45:19, 45:20, 45:22, 45:25, 46:20), including for the sin of the Prince and High Priest (Eze. 45:21) which we know has been settled by the Blood of the Messiah "once and for all", therefore renders a literal interpretation post-resurrection with the Messiah as the High Priest impossible. In contrast, Ezekiel's Temple vision was originally a promise to Yasharal for a literal Levite Tsadaq High Priest to officiate for that generation if they repented (Eze. 43:9-11), but most did not therefore that generation was given a much smaller Temple instead. Therefore, because that generation did not join together as a repentant unified nation (most preferring to remain in Babylonian Diaspora instead), an allegorical picture of the Gospel is all that remains as they were given over to a lesser design and continued to be led by Hellenized Jews for hundreds of years (1-4 Maccabees), whereas the Tsadaqite Priests who would have officiated for the rest of the nation were rejected by their peers and forced to dwell in the Dead Sea Caves and various commonly owned properties throughout Yahudah (Judea). Each specific part of the Temple represented a facet of the relationship between Yahuah and His People which reveals the New Covenant Spiritual implications. Therefore, the fact that the “House of Alahym” now refers to His People rather than a physical temple made by human hands is further expressed as Judgement begins with “Yarushalam” at the temple in Ezekiel 8-10 during the Great Tribulation as referenced again in the final passages of Ezekiel 7. Therefore, these Visions ultimately remind Believers to remain steadfast in our Obedience towards our Eternal High Priest and King, and endure to the End with Faith of the true Gospel by refusing to partake in a return to sacrifices which proclaim the Blood of Messiah as insufficient.
